photo dump

i take too many pictures that blogging them is overwhelming.  more overwhelming than that is looking through the thousands of pictures on my computer.  soooo i will press on and continue my attempts to edit and narrow down pictures for the blog on a somewhat regular basis.  i love being able to look back at everyday life around here.  here are some pictures from the 9th to the 13th.

the boys
the girls
the book she decided she didn't want to read afterall
the off the shoulder strapless look
my mil did this swaddle.  when i came home i found brady had pretty much shimmied his way out of it.  ha.
the outfit baby girl wore for almost a week straight
the joys of two kids
the love of a big sister (kissing his head, his arm, his hand, etc.)
playdough roads
learning about bridges, bumpy roads, straight roads, and curvy roads
our guest room is lonely and yearning for some visitors.  any takers?  we're all ready for you!
how i took attendance at youth night last week.  we were still missing a lot of people at this point but it came in handy as a base number to go off of when buying refreshments.
the matching swaddles
baby girl is infinitely happier these days now that she has brady.  i wish she loved me as much as she loves him.
when the unsuspecting get kisses
i got some purple skinnies from banana and last week had the courage to wear them.  definitely out of my comfort zone emotionally but they are by far my more comfortable pants.  even if i'm too fat to button them...
don't worry... no one got hurt.
my new favorite way to take pictures of brady is by turning the camera around and letting him see his reflection on my phone (does that even make sense?)... he was just scowling at his reflection.  different than his usual smiles.
i take way too many pictures.

close

baby girl likes to me close.  who knows if that'll be the case down the road, but right now, i'm assuming she inherited that from me.  i love touching.  hugs, spooning, sitting on someone's lap... doesn't matter to me... i love it.  i'm noticing baby girl is craving that too.  when she watches thomas on the sofa, i normally sit on the edge of it for a minute while i'm getting the video set up.  during that time, she always scoots right up next to me.  and when i leave, she goes to find pooh bear (and her hat!) and brings him up to be her move cuddle buddy.  it was cute the first time it happened, but now it's just cute that this is a regular thing.

if i didn't know any better, i would be positive that this was a picture of me as a child.  that. is. my. face.
the hat changes the look though... that is not my face.  that is a child thug.
or a hobo princess
or just a vision in pink
i set brady in the glider for a second to snap a picture of him being three months old... baby girl took that opportunity to snuggle up next to him and give him a million and one kisses.
how does she know to just spontaneously (and constantly) give him kisses?  is it a girl thing because they're naturally so nurturing?!
and then she put her hat on him and i about died laughing.  these two are going to have a ball together as they grow up.

take a picture of me!

sunday after church we went over to my in laws for dinner and family time.  we ate, put together 72 hour kits, and hung out.  i love that we live so close to my in laws.  and that they're so awesome.

baby girl's thing this past week is asking me to take pictures of her... usually with various toys that she's set up.
and then she'll play with them again and set them up again and request another picture.
and keep repeating this about fifty more times until we finally have to go home.
is this a phase or the beginning of life as we know it?  either way is fine by me... i'm loving it.

a busy saturday

saturday was awesome.  we got in some quality family time, honey and i went on a date to the avs game, i chaperoned the youth dance that night, and brady houdini'd out of honey's swaddle.  what more could you hope for?!

seriously?  i got both kids to look at the camera and my honey has his eyes closed?!  sadly, this isn't even the first or second time this has happened.  he's a repeat offender.
this is a denver nuggets player and he always makes me think of diana... so i texted her this picture.  raise your hand if you know why!
this was one of those awkward angle pictures that makes your body look enormous and your head look tiny.  cropped, i was able to salvage a picture of us on a date!  success!
this was right as the avs scored a goal, so maybe i started getting up to cheer instead of actually getting the goal in the shot.
with our friends, the hackings.
just a random shot of the pepsi center.  if this was in atlanta it'd probably be called coca cola arena or something.  hearing "pepsi" is still weird to me so i don't associate it with the beverage.
i got home from chaperoning the dance to find brady like this.  he pulled his hand out of his pj's and out of the sleep sack, up through the neck.
ha, i didn't even know that was physically possible.  apparently he's a houdini like baby girl was.
it was rushed and a bit hectic at times, but all in all an awesome day.

kicking off the weekend

honey made it a point to come home a little early on friday so we could enjoy the good weather and go to the playground together as a family.  we went as soon as he got home and stayed until the sun was setting.  it was the perfect start to our weekend.

trying to pass henry up so he can go down the slide again.
gave up.

baby girl has a death grip on her henry and her jacket tags.  and here's a shout out to brady hanging out in his stroller/carseat.

punk

for her first birthday, baby girl got a cute little pink windbreaker from my christopher's grandparents.  it has hung in her closet ever since... waiting for the day it would finally fit her.  well, friday was the day.  it fit and baby girl loved it and her favorite part was the tag on it (so that part is actually still there) and my favorite part is that when paired with her pink hat (still wearing it 24/7), she looks like a thug.  a thug that just shoplifted a pink windbreaker.

did i mention it's size 18 months?  oshkosh has their sizes off.
and hallelujah that my kid is loving the camera lately and actually models like this without any help from me.  i just click away.
what a sweet little punk this is.

dental hygiene

trains have teeth, right?  then it only makes sense that they brush their teeth with their thomas toothbrush and thomas toothpaste.  don't use that abby cadabby spray though... that's what we call a conflict of interest.

happy three months, brady!

my sweet brady turned three months old yesterday.  we had a wonderful day celebrating with naps and eating.  we both had a good morning since we were only up once during the night (over 6 hours, followed by a 4.5 hour stretch) which is as good as it gets around here... at least for now.  and that brady and abigail both woke up in unison after 9am was fabulous too.  it's fun doing stuff as the three of us when we're not in a hurry to be somewhere.  brady got a bath with abigail and had his morning nap from 10:15 to 1.  then it was eating and more hanging out until his afternoon nap from 2:30 to 5.  when he woke up, christopher was actually home already and the three of us hung out on the floor upstairs in the hallway until it was time for dinner.  he went to sleep for his last nap at 6:15 and i woke him up at 8:30 for his last wake time of the day.  he ate while we hung out as a family and watched part of the avs game and then all four of us went upstairs to get ready for bed.  late evening is still the roughest part of the day and this was no exception.  luckily though, that just translated to being awake and unable to settle down easily... not screaming fits like what used to be the case... and after me just holding him while christopher and i read scriptures, i carried brady upstairs and he was calm enough to go to sleep for the night.  if i was a really super awesome mom, i would do real "day in the life" posts with pictures and better narration.  right now though, this is as good as it gets.  brady, you've got it good... this is a typical day in the life for you... and at three months, you're loving it.
