baby video
a video. my dad took tons of home videos when i was young. most all of them are completely pointless and oh soooo entertaining.

typical
it's pretty typical that my little baby girl will take all of her bowls and lids out of the tupperware drawer and match them all up according to color.
but it's rarely typical for a story time name tag to make it all the way home from the library and park still in place.
sweet girl, you're super smart but sometimes i can still fool you.

red shoes and babies
i know i've mentioned it before but baby girl developed an opinion about her clothes much earlier than what i had been anticipating. it hasn't become out of control at all but i do like to humor her when i can. so depending on the appropriateness of what she picks out, i'll let her pick out one element of her outfit and i just try to match the rest.
well, all winter baby girl's red church shoes have been her very favorite but she could only wear them on sundays. now that it's warmer though, baby has developed new favorites... a whole new world of... SANDALS!!! well, on an unusually cold day last week she was wanting the sandals. not gonna happen baby girl but what if i let you wear these red shoes?!
and on that note we struck a compromise and headed out for our playdate.
but we had a few minutes to kill before we needed to leave sooo... picture time.
she loves to jump off of anything and everything. i NEED a video of it. when she jumps in place, it's probably one of the cutest things she's ever done. literally.
and if this hasn't been said yet... baby girl's newest obsession is babies! i mean, i think she might even like babies more than shoes and cell phones combined. all day all i hear is "BEEEBEEEE! BEEEBEEEEEE!!!!" and this doll is her favorite (it's also the only lifelike one). it was free from a friend and it looked like crap but then i bought it a preemie sleeper from walmart and it's as cute as can be.
everywhere we go, she'll yell out if she sees a baby. and to her baby = any child under the age of ten.
so when i got baby girl up from nap, i took off her sleeper and put a diaper on her. while i went to her closet to get her play clothes, she found her baby doll in the hallway, grabbed a diaper from her basket, and started putting a fresh diaper on him (on the outside of his sleeper... we haven't learned that detail yet). once i helped her get that diaper strapped on him, i put her clothes on her. as we got up to leave her closet, baby girl was pointing and trying to tell me something. so i grabbed one of her little cardigans and slipped it on her baby, thinking she wanted him dressed too. "OFF! OFF!" as she pulled the sweater off. okay... so you don't want your baby dressed. alrighty then, we'll just head downstairs. nope, that was definitely the wrong answer. "BOW!" as she pointed to the baby's head. ohhhhhh!!!!
i was a little confused at first since the baby has a plastic head and no way to clip on a hair bow. i went to a different upstairs closet pulling out baby girls little headbands she doesn't wear anymore. and place it on the little dolls head. baby girl just giggled and cooed. she was tickled pink! and then she kept pulling it down over his forehead so it fit more like this...
y'know. because that's how boys wear headbands.
this little girl is so smart. i don't care if it's twenty something years away... i'm so excited for her to be a mom.
ps- my day today was soooooo far less than spectacular. but seeing my little girl with her baby boy doll with size 4 diaper over his fleece footies and a white rocker headband across his forehead... well, that made me not want to curl up in the fetal position and give up on life. ;-) thank you for that baby girl.

mystery shorts
check out these little pink shorts. not sure exactly if they're shorts or capris or cropped pants or what. but they were 90% off at kohl's last fall (mentioned here and here) so i bought them and just figured we'd be able to make it work when summer came around. well... they're size 6-9 months. and can you tell they're still huge even when i rolled the waistband?!
so i'm pretending they're bermuda shorts. but really, i'm just seriously confused how these would fit any other child. i mean, she's almost two and they're size 6-9 months. if they swamp baby girl, what would they do to a 9 month old?!
with her keds (thanks sarah!!!) and pink bermudas, cupcake embroidered polo, and gigantic matching hair bow... i could just eat her up.
speaking of eat her up... chris says that all the time. kinda. normally his words are more like yelling "YOU'RE SO CUTE I COULD JUST BITE YOUR HEAD OFF!!!" he says this at least five times a day. over the weekend we were all cuddling and hanging out in bed when my honey said, "YOU'RE SO CUTE I JUST WANT TO EAT YOU! CAN I BITE YOUR HEAD OFF?!" to which baby got big eyed and shook her head with a quiet "nope." ha.

happy mothers day 2012!
here are a few snipits from the day
from the nursery lesson. although i asked baby girl about it at home... blank stare. this kid doesn't apologize.
today was a good day. no one told honey that bishopric meeting was cancelled so he woke up at 5 15 for that but then crawled back in bed with me at 7:40. my alarm went off at 7:50 and 7:55 before i finally just turned it off. we kept snuggling until 8:30... church starts at 9. so, he was in charge of getting baby ready and bringing me breakfast (he had plans for a whole breakfast in bed with the eggs he makes that i love but i was kinda just feeling cherrios instead) and i got myself dressed and presentable. it was cold outside! it worked well though because we got to wear cozy clothes and nothings better than wearing my warm brown boots to church. baby was on good behavior during sacrament meeting and honey and i actually got to sit together during sunday school! young womens was great and we took the laurels into relief society for an awesome lesson on prayer. came home and ate tacos, fed baby, and i hung out in bed while honey went to a church meeting thing with his parents and the becks. when he got home he jumped in bed but baby had heard the garage and was yelling DADDY!!!! forever so he went ahead and got her out of bed. it was a short nap for her. she pooped so go figure. i drizzled chocolate deliciousness on the bundt cake i made last night and we all headed out the door for the hilliers. we ate a wonderful roast dinner, hung out, opened mothers day/ birthday presents and called honey's brother mark, who is currently serving a mission in mexico. and then we ate the chocolate cake i made. i felt like such a success. getting home, i put baby to bed while honey took out the trash, watered the lawn, and cleaned the kitchen. then we met in bed and snuggled some more. as i said, it was a good day.

cinco de maycock take dos
k, let's try this again. let me know if the pictures work! and if that's successful i'll go through the pain of moving over the text and captions. woohoo.
a whole bunch of pictures taken between 8 am and noon. to make up for the fact that i never got my camera out after that. whoops.

as we sent him off to the temple. last shot before he became a married man!
my camera has been broken since that one week i kept letting baby play with it so the battery compartment is held together by duct tape and can be annoying. and i wanted to be in the moment instead of constantly behind the camera. sooo, i'm counting on picture sharing to get all of the good pictures from the day. because this is pretty much all i have. ;-) anyways, it was excellent.
