baby girl is getting pretty popular. so it was about time that we got her head shots taken. i took her into this excellent photography studio in parker that takes toddler head shots and they let you pick four for $40. here's what i picked...
these may have just been taken while baby girl took a moment away from playing with that empty plastic laundry basket to lean against my nightstand and act a little silly for the camera. and yes, i know all of those shots are blurry but it seems like my favorite faces always end up in the blurry pictures. probably because this kid is happiest when in motion. i am happiest when stationary. accompanied by sweets and a tall glass of milk.
baby loves taking the pen caps off and on. of course. it's like undressing and redressing a pen! |
so i will admit that i really loooove that baby girl has a sense of humor. she's actually been really into jokes and teasing for quite a while. she started much younger than what i would have anticipated but i first noticed it when we would ask for kisses and she would give us this face and say a certain "noooo" that was more like a "nnnaaaaaawwwwwwhhhhhhh" with a funny squirm and smile. i can't describe it but she knew she was being funny and teasing. and with that it all began.
now i'm just wondering how to tame this. veteran moms, impart of your wisdom to me. how to i cultivate this natural fun loving nature my child is exhibiting, while also teaching her strict obedience? especially when it comes to dangerous stuff like standing up in her highchair/shopping cart or running into the street?! because it is a wonder she's still in one piece.
I always laugh with Benjamin when things are funny...and resist laughing and use your "mom" voice and stern "no" when anything leads to danger or pain. He is happy when I'm happy, so my no seems to be very effective.
