Finding more Thomas

have i mentioned lately how much i hate blogger?

i had a whole post written on my phone and don't ask how but it disappeared so now i'm trying to remember all of the quotes i'd written in it.  so frustrating.  it kept not letting me publish it and the the text went to that weird coded stuff and then the draft just wasn't there at all.  ugh.  anyways...

"i don't like this ones!  i just like thomas!" as she pulled a nancy drew book out of her stack of books.

"this one's not thomas." as she took a random train book (not thomas) out of her stack.  i told her she could still read it even though it wasn't about thomas and she exclaimed "i don't!  i don't!" and proceeded to weed through the rest of her stack to check inventory of what was actually thomas and what wasn't.

also from today:

when we were at costco she stuffed a napkin in her shirt insisting "i need a bib!  i need a bib!"

when we pulled in the garage, and continuing while i unloaded groceries, "get me out of the car!" and "get me out of my carseat!"

and even though she says this sort of stuff all the time, i always love when she says stuff like "i wanna check thomas at the library" or when we're at a store and she picks up an item and tells me she wants to check it out.

we like to talk about emotions although baby girl still mostly just thinks everyone is happy, sad, or worried.  reading a story that ended with something like "thomas beemed" accompanied by a picture of a smiling thomas, i asked her what thomas was.  was thomas happy?  "no, thomas's not happy.  thomas is beemed."  and then we got in a little tiff about it before i gave in and we agreed that thomas is definitely beemed.

ps- we currently have 91 items checked out from the library.  35 of them are thomas.  (8 dvds and 27 books)  and in case 27 books doesn't sound like a lot, i'll have you know that some of them contain multiple stories each and today we found something called "thomas' big story book" that is 185 pages long.  the front cover says it's 6 books in 1.  and the back cover explains that each of those 6 books contains 4 stories.  ummm 24 stories all bound into one 185 page book?!  yikes.  sadly though, we might be returning that doozy soon because it's really poorly written and uses words like "shut up" which is definitely not like any of the other thomas books or movies we've seen.  anyways, that was a side story but basically, i think thomas is the least of the evils when it comes to children's videos but i'm growing tired of the books.  i looooong for the day that we'll be able to read a well rounded selection of library books.  someday.
