today was pretty awesome. this morning there was a church worldwide leadership training and since honey and i both needed to go, we made it a date. and then afterwards we went on a double date to gotcha yogurt (sadly there was no samoa ice cream this time but it was still fabulous) with kirstyn and her husband. two dates in one morning?! what a treat!
dropped honey and baby off at home and headed to the church for a young women basketball game. we had six leaders there to cheer on our girls! sadly though, only two of our girls showed up! we have around 25 young women so this was very sad indeed. but the other team had ten girls so everyone split in two teams and they played anyways. goal for next saturday: get the girls to the game!
we all enjoyed a low key nap time and then honey's brother, john, came over at six to babysit. honey got a bunch of restaurant gift cards from work (apparently it's the thing to send with your business christmas cards) and a couple of them were nearing the deadline. so we've been out to eat a few times this week. ;-) last night was the best though, we went to bonefish grill and it was amazing. i literally died with every bite of the corn chowder. it had lump crab (whatever that is? is that just lumps of crab or a specific kind?!) and it was heavenly. i want to go back and just order several bowls and call it a meal. we also had bread with a little dish of pesto olive oil dipping sauce whatever. i need to do that at home. it was awesome. and my entree was pecan parmesan crusted rainbow trout and garlic mashed potatoes. i. was. stuffed. mostly though, i was motivated to try to make that stuff for myself at home!
before we went to dinner, we went to dave and busters. i can't even remember the last time i went there. we had so much fun, although i think it was mostly just being together and doing a college sort of date. because really... those games are kinda lame. except skee ball. everyone loves skee ball.
so, i'm noticing that my honey and i love each other more when we spend one on one time with eachother away from phones, computers, and tvs. hmmm it's like our prophets really do know what they're talking about with all of that "continued courtship" stuff. ;-)
