john deere bbq

we're a little off schedule today.  it's currently 4:18 and i can still hear abigail up in her crib playing.  i wonder if she'll be able to eventually settle down and sleep.  i'd have to wake her up in not long anyways.  but it's all worth it.  i guess last night tired baby girl right out so i didn't hear her this morning til 10:30 and didn't grab her out of bed til 10:45.  i put clothes on her, handed her a banana and slice of wheat bread and had her buckled in her carseat by 11.  then we met up with honey in castle rock and all drove together down to colorado springs.

honey's got lots of clients... lots of "city of _____" where they cover all of the government workers for the city.  or random other boring businesses that do property and casualty or whatever.  so my very very favorite clients of his are all of the john deere companies!  sometimes he'll come back from a trip to [insert random midwest state here] and bring me a john deere mug or something and it'll feel like christmas to me because i have a special love for all things john deere.  the john deere in colorado springs is the biggest one in all of colorado and this morning they were having some sort of open house/appreciation bbq event and families were invited.  woohoo!  they had food and games and tons of tractors and it was so much fun.

some sort of simulator thing
see the drinks in the front of that tractor in the background?

they had drink stations like this set up all over the place.  just a huge giant tractor with  ice and drinks in the shovel bucket part.  is there a correct term for that?!
all of the food and people were under that tent and inside that barn warehouse thing you see here behind the tractor.

one of the games was going up in this thing and throwing hacky sacks into buckets on the ground.
honey was one for... ummm however many they gave him.  ha.
and this was another game.  baseballs were set up on the cones and you had to get it into the digger thing and then into a bucket placed on the other side of the tractor.
after successfully getting two baseballs into the bucket.

they had awesome tractor cakes (honey got a picture on his phone before they cut it up) and i made sure to pick a piece with a wheel on it because i'm kind of a bit of a nerd like that.
too bad this thing costs something over $200.  because i was in love with it.
had nicolas sparks written this scene yet?  because he should.  except that i'm not really a fan of his stuff.  oh well.
we're like a real live mother daughter love story.
it was tons of fun and lucky for baby girl and myself, i haven't heard her since 4:18.  i must have jinxed her right to sleep.  i can't believe tomorrow is friday.  this week has really flown by!
