our first stop was to meet up with lisa (aka weed) at ruby snap, this cute little cookie shop she suggested. it was amazing and did not disappoint. they let you try as many cookies as you want and each sample is half of a cookie. so we ate a whole lot of sugar before even choosing our cookies. abigail ultimately chose a pink cherry flavored cookie with chocolate chips and pink bling on top. her first item of business was licking off the pink bling.
the cookies are all beautiful and the most wonderful concoctions ever. there were cookies i was sure i wouldn't like, but then lisa would give me a bite of her sample and it was incredible. we hung out in there forever just talking about cookies. and because it took me forever to finally make my decision. i finally picked the maris and it was DIVINE. i have zero regrets about that one.
and then mom took abigail to the car to hang out while lisa and i visited a little more and the owner of the shop came out of the back where they bake the cookies (lisa and i had peeked back there and seen the most enormous block of butter... and we about died) and asked if we'd be willing to critique a new cookie they're working on for the holidays. it was a chocolate cookie with peppermint icing on top and she was having trouble gauging if she should scale back the chocolate and up the peppermint. so she asked us to test it out because she's tried it so many times it was starting to always taste the same to her.
umm, yes please! so even though we were so nauseous, we split a cookie and then she frosted the second one for us to take with us. so we took that to the car to share with mom and abigail. it was heavenly. i'm pretty sure this will be a staple stop next time we're in town. so so so fun.
