not blonde

honey and I were invited to an avs game through a business connection so we stayed in a fancy suite. it was a fun change for a night, but definitely not the same experience as being down close to the ice and in the action.

also, my honey is so disturbed lately about how dark my hair has gotten and that I'm not blonde anymore.  I told him it just depends on the lighting and I can sometimes still call myself blonde.  expect who are we kidding? I'm going to always call myself blonde regardless of how dark or white or gray my hair gets.

blonde.

not blonde.

not blonde.

I'm really not blonde anymore. 😢

Shanahan's

when you're driving and you just happen to catch a glimpse of a little boy in the backseat with a miniature Santa hat on his head.  I was so startled, I laughed out loud.  and Brady, who had forgotten he'd put it on, was so shy and confused why I was laughing at him.

PSA: these are at Costco and they are soooo delicious.  I am not a huge fan of pretzels, white chocolate, or peppermint candy canes... but something about these and that combination is phenomenal.  although I will say that Chris doesn't think they're that great.  but I love the sweet and salty and crunchy and smooth and everything about these.  they've been my drug of choice lately.

dinner at shanahan's for the hospital board Christmas party.

the hostess on the way out saw our walking selfie and offered to take a picture of us.

and let's be honest that basically these look the same as the night before except for my hair.

kid zone at the library

today was a frustrating day in a lot of ways but luckily not all bad.  honey was supposed to go to South Dakota but his client last minute cancelled his lunch meeting (luckily before honey was on a plane to South Dakota) so he was home for dinner and bedtime instead of being gone.  woohoo!

Brady took this mirror selfie.

this is a regular computer in the library for looking up books.  Elizabeth thought (or maybe was just pretending... I'm not sure) that it could also be for checking out books so she loaded our books on the keyboard and it was cute to watch.  she's just a funny kid.

also, it's more amusing to me now even though I was severely annoyed at the time that she brought this book from home.  snuck it into the car without me realizing and then managed to sneak it into the library.  and luckily it still came home with us.

Brady did his kid zone craft in record time again.

Abigail strung beads on pipe cleaners for as long as the librarian let her.

even Elizabeth did enough to make herself a little bracelet.

and Brady played with Andrew.  he loves him so much.

funniest part of my day was when honey asked if I wanted to meet him for lunch and I had to tell him that I couldn't because I was going to pilates with Sarah.  how long is it going to take me to not feel like a poser when I say that.  anyone that knows me should understand how laughable it is that I had to turn down costa vida because it was going to interfere with a pilates class at the gym.

and my most grateful part of the day was that my honey got dinner plates for the kids so that when we got home from the library, it was one less thing for me to do and manage with my headache.  thank goodness for that.

father son rockies game

honey took his favorite sports buddy to the rockies game for a special father and son night out.

Brady didn't take a nap earlier so of course he fell asleep on the way.

when he got home, Brady was so exhausted he couldn't make it up the stairs.  luckily, I caught him before he fell asleep.  this kid is living the life.

I only had two kids

thankfully today was infinitely better than yesterday because of my honey.

we had a pretty good morning and the kids did a good job doing a few "fun" chores that I gave them.  they were in charge of sharpening 48 pencils (Abigail's school supplies) and sorting and organizing all the shoes in our shoe bins underneath the washer and dryer.  also, they all put away their laundry.  and then I put elizabeth down for nap and honey took Abigail and Brady to skyzone.

and then when everyone was gone and it was all quiet, I walked in to check on Andrew and laughed out loud at this.  still not sure who put the doll there.

the best part was that I took the picture but then never removed the doll.  so things progressed.

like a loving friend.

honey sent me pictures from sky zone.

average kid jumping into the foam pit.

Abigail jumping into the foam pit.

I literally can't look at that picture without laughing out loud.  after, honey took the kids to Texas Roadhouse for dinner.  Brady got the hotdog, Abigail got Mac n cheese, and honey got chicken and ribs.  not one steak was ordered.  considering we normally ALL order steaks, that was a pretty big deal... maybe the first time ever.

we used to frequently go to petsmart after Texas Roadhouse just for fun to look at all the animals.  I can't even remember the last time we did that, but honey took the kids while they were out.  and even took them to Walmart after and picked up a few things and even some school supplies I still needed for Abigail that I couldn't order on Walmart to go.

meanwhile at home with my hours of free time, I cleaned out my closet and played a lot of catchup with chores around the house.  also rotated out Andrews clothes... 7 weeks old and we're ditching the newborn clothes and fully in 0-3.

Elizabeth woke up at 3:30 and it was so fun having her be my little helper.  she was so hilarious and fun to be with.  she kept asking me what I was doing.  she was also our dj with my phone (which required virtually nothing of her because it was pandora) and broke out some pretty intense dance moves.  this is my favorite age for little kids and I've been wondering lately why I haven't been loving it with Elizabeth like I did with Abigail.  while I was hanging out with Elizabeth, it occurred to me that maybe it's because I've got too much else going on with the other kids that I haven't been able to just pause and observe and soak up that little girl.  she does hilarious things that, when I'm too busy taking care of a bunch of kids, just comes off as annoying or inconvenient.  having honey take the big kids for the afternoon was so great for me to cross a few things off my to do list, but also so I could get that quality time with Elizabeth.  it was so special for me.
