no time

i can't believe how non busy my life was in california.  i couldn't believe it at the time and i definitely have a hard time believing it now.  maybe it was because i didn't have to devote any time to my calling, my kid(s), or my house.  well things have definitely changed and now i have to put stuff like "eat" and "go to the bathroom" on my to do list that i get to when i have a few free minutes.  never thought i'd be scheduling that sort of stuff but apparently my life has come to that.

aaaannnnnddddd brady just woke up.

scriptures and sleep are next on my list.  can't wait for that.

a wedding!

my favorite brother ever got married today!!!  and hopefully sometime i'll post pictures and commentary.  right now though, i'll be going to sleep.  we're going to napa tomorrow and i need to wake up in about 4.5 hours.  wish me luck with that.

i made some pretty awesome friends at stanford... my friend katt was definitely at the top of that list.  she took ellen's dare for all the pregnant women to dance behind unsuspecting strangers.  this made me (and my honey) laugh out loud more times than we should admit.  and i've probably watched this like five times already.

i think i've made it very clear how i felt about living in california.  but just for funzies (for some reason i can't say that without thinking of my only brother walter), let's beat a dead horse.

every time i meet someone new and they find out that we moved here from california, they have to ask how i liked it out there.  i had that conversation several times, just this week.  two days ago it was with a new neighbor that just moved in down the street.  she lived in california for a while too.  the subject turned to how everyone in california thinks it's the best weather ever when in reality, it's just moderate temperatures with nearly constant clouds.  and the rainy winters.  sooo much rain.  i know it's not ALWAYS sunny here, but it's sunnier here than in california and i've seen stats that back me up on that one.  so today i was enjoying yet another day of glorious weather.  i know it's gorgeous in georgia too because i've seen (via skype) that everything there is green and in bloom.  seriously intoxicating.  anyways, i was curious what my weather would be like if we were still at stanford.  

well, let's go ahead and play a game of "would you rather."

one year ago

posting pictures of my baby is my way of blogging without really blogging.  it takes way more work to actually think and write.

but i haven't taken any pictures in THREE days (although i actually got out our video camera for the first time in months because our baby was talking like crazy) and so i have no new pictures to post.  oh my heavens, who even knew it was possible?!?!  anyways, since it's 10.23.11 and i have no pictures from today, i looked back and dug up some pictures from 10.23.10 just to flash back and see what we were doing a year ago tonight.

apparently we bundled our baby in a blanket cocoon on that hideous sofa i was sooo happy to leave in california.  california, you deserve it.  i don't miss you.  although i do miss some wonderful people i was sad to leave behind... S.A.R. i'm lookin' at you!

and i guess we also watched a hockey game on honey's crappy laptop since we had no tv.  

man, that is one bald baby.  she's so much cuter now.  and is it just me or does her face look chubby?  those cheeks are enormous, right?

ps- my parents are coming to visit next month!!!  only for a few days but i'm soooooo excited!!!  

pps- one of my favorite friends was telling me yesterday about how her baby can say poop.  i was instantly jealous.  since it's one of my favorite words, i decided to teach my baby how to say "poop" too.  well, i'm happy to report that my baby can say less than 10 words, and one of them is "poop."

i let my child get sunburned.  bad.  we were outside in our courtyard just playing on a blanket, taking pictures, and hanging out.  we do this at least once or twice a week.  well nothing has ever happened before but it sure did yesterday!  i blame california.

and of course chris freaked out like a first time parent when we saw.  i told him it would be gone by morning knowing full well it wouldn't.  yup, still looks just like it did last night in the pictures.

the good news though?  baby has no clue.

perfect time for us to take a road trip down the coast huh?

this is yet another reason we'll be leaving california for colorado.

i bought gas three days ago for $3.95.  today, the cheapest i could find was $3.99.
