that mom

today i had a wonderful text conversation with my friend sarah about being "that mom."  the one with a messy house and hair in a pony tail and kids with crazy mismatched clothes.  and i told her i'm working on being that mom... and today i was!

my house was a wreck, i looked like death, and my kids were wearing outfits i'm ashamed to post pictures of.  but we spent hours outside today soaking up the great weather and all three of us were crazy happy.  it was a success.

papa has been in the hospital with the flu since yesterday afternoon.  my granny is by his side 24/7 taking care of him but could you please send a little prayer their way?  it would be much appreciated.

not a couch potato

my kid has a very calm and mellow personality.  she's very laid back and agreeable.  don't be confused though, this does not translate to her physical demeanor in the least.

oh to have so much energy that you can't help but run laps while you watch tv.

i have to admit that i was flattered she wanted to hang out with me while i got ready this morning.  it's not something i take for granted.

too quiet for comfort

typically, when a kid is occupied and quiet for a long period of time, it is reason to worry.  so when i panicked and then found this...

i was pleasantly surprised.

linoleum floors

it's a happy day when you find out that these red marks all over your kitchen floors are actually nail polish and can be removed with some nail polish remover and a whole lot of elbow grease!  why didn't i try this 14 months ago?!

 

and although this makes me dislike our kitchen floors a little less, it still doesn't take stone tile floors off my wishlist.  you can remove the red nail polish but you can't fix the rips and tears and incessantly dirty nature of linoleum floors.

until then... i'll just keep delighting in my little success!

a wedding!

my favorite brother ever got married today!!!  and hopefully sometime i'll post pictures and commentary.  right now though, i'll be going to sleep.  we're going to napa tomorrow and i need to wake up in about 4.5 hours.  wish me luck with that.

today we went to the zoo!  pictures to be added later.

from 2:30 on was spent hanging out... at liza's, home, sarah's, home, dollar store/lowes, home.

it's been a good day but i really miss my honey.  can't wait to see him friday!

sometimes baby just likes to take off her clothes while she waits for me to come get her.  two days ago i came in and she was down to a diaper.  you get the pg pictures.

or maybe she was just looking to get a little more comfortable by sitting down to brush her teeth.

 

i guess we'll just never know...

3 days and 7 flights later and my honey is back home!

slumber party

last night my sister in law kelsey came over.  we had pillow fights and giggle fests and... just kidding, no we didn't.  but we did stay up and talk til somewhere around 3:30 in the morning.

so now i'm going to take a little nap.
