driving home from Utah

Saturday morning we woke up and packed and ate breakfast and said our goodbyes.  thankfully, the drive home was mostly uneventful except for some gorgeous sunset views.

random rash I found.  was gone a day later when I remembered to check it again.  it's stuff like this that makes me never feel like I need to take my kid to a doctor... too many times, if you wait a little while, I'll take care of itself.

so happy to be able to stretch out after the drive.

a very hillier thanksgiving

thanksgiving morning, honey woke up early while baby girl and i slept in.  until around ten when honey ran home to shower and i got baby girl and myself ready in record time before heading over to the in-laws.

breakfast was served!  we had a delicious spread of eggs, sausage, yogurt and granola, hash browns  cinnamon rolls, orange julius, and at least one or two more things that i'm probably forgetting.  the missionaries joined us for breakfast and after we were all done eating, my father in law had us all gather in the living room for a concert.  one of the missionaries was a phenomenal pianist so he played a number of things for us before turning the time over to anyone else in the room that could play.  after some valiant attempts at greatness from some of our own, we finished up singing a hymn around the piano.  my father in law is one of the funniest people i know, but he's one of those people that has no idea he's so hilarious.  take this for example...

he asked the missionary to play this hymn so we could all sing and then he kept telling him he needed to play it louder/with more emphasis/give it a real punch/etc.  and then he kept telling us that we needed to sing it with more energy and special emphasis on that one part.  my mother in law and i were laughing so hard we had tears in our eyes... hers more from embarrassment but whatever.  come join the hillier thanksgiving, where we sing hymns like fight songs.

dinner was just family plus our friends will and becca. christopher and will were at stanford together.

after dinner we all hung out and then some more people came over and we all played this fast racing dice turkey game.  oh, and we ate pie.  lots and lots of pie.  coconut cream for me.

black friday bowling

in my family, we go bowling every christmas.  like christmas day after presents and dinner.  the hilliers don't have a set day of the year that they bowl and this year it happened to land on black friday.  my honey was so sweet to stay home with a napping baby girl (he had a jammed finger from the turkey bowl thanksgiving morning anyways) so i could hang out with his fam.  it was a lot of fun.

forget the baby center fruit.  here's my 35 weeks bump with bowling ball comparison.

you may not know this but i'm very self conscious about my small ankles. and big feet. these shoes did nothing to make me feel any more confident.
my mother in law couldn't stop laughing at me and making comments about "toothpicks" and "clown shoes."  it was awesome.
if i had the ability to put the ball exactly where you tell me to, i probably wouldn't need you in the first place.
as far as my actual bowling went.  it was very bad but extremely consistent...

yeay for black friday bowling!  at least i didn't fall over in my unbalanced, top heavy state...

a thanksgiving first

2011... my first non-homemade thanksgiving dinner.

also baby's first. granted, she's only had one other thanksgiving dinner and it consisted entirely of milk. but you better believe it was 100% homemade.

thanksgiving 2010

baby and i will be back in atlanta on friday.  so it's only right that i post about our last georgia trip before this next one happens.  here is the abbreviated version.  all 200 pictures can be seen here on facebook.

as always, first stop: varsity.  it was also my birthday dinner since we flew in on the 20th.

my niece and nephew LOVE baby and speak to her in a squeaky high voice while pinching her cheeks.

celebrated my birthday with cheesecake and presents.  i'm 25 now!

but really, it was soooo cute.  someone needs a little sibling.  and it isn't baby girl.... yet.

honey and i went to the cnn center.  it was our first time.

we went to mccormick & schmicks for lunch.  and then we went to centennial olympic park for baby's lunch.  we had seafood.  baby had milk.

it's funny because although i don't actually drink coke (not a fan of carbonation) i feel such a connection with the beverage.  i guess baby is the same way.

baby was teaching uncle wally all about the art of teething and wearing pink.

visited with a few favorite friends, diana (best friend since birth) and belen (has a big booty).

loving me some horrific atlanta traffic on our way to the farm.

happy thanksgiving!  my most delicious one on record.

the dock at the pond.  we didn't fish this time but it was still fun to hang out there while skye rode in the boat with her dad.

four generations along the maternal line.

my wonderful grandparents.  they are ADORABLE.

mom and dad's first thrashers game.  it was tons of fun.  especially when dad threw himself on mom for this picture.

fun things always happen when the fam hangs out in the kitchen late at night.

flying back home.  let me tell you, flying with a baby is a breeze when you have these three things: pacifier, bottle, baby daddy.  in that order.
well, that's a wrap.  as i said, if this isn't enough, click here for all 200 pictures.  but right now i'm off to bed.

ps- i think blog labels are lots of fun.  i will attempt to start doing those.
