monday

this is the second longest brady has ever slept.  once, when he was three weeks old he slept 7 hours and i woke up with the sun and was sure my child must have died.  seven hours at three weeks was obviously a fluke.
these are baby girl's new favorite shoes.  they squeak and she calls them her noisy boots.
they were a gift and in the box was a note about how there is hand beading that might not withstand hard play.  or in baby girl's case, withstand the 15 foot walk to the stairs.  beads everywhere and now i have to fix them because she's so sad to have broken her boots.  aside from that... pink glitter boots with ribbon, lace, and hand beading?! does it get more girly than that?!
she is soooo cute now when she takes her picture.  so much concentration to get it just right.
he has his moments (a lot of them actually) but when he's happy, he coos and giggles and smiles to no end.  my sweetest bipolar child ever.
spring is in the air... and closets.
honey swept the floor last night and then i wanted to mop today so i swept it again this morning... and got this much crap.  which i found amusing since last night all honey could say was "how do our floors get so dirty?!" (he doesn't sweep often).  i'm pretty positive it's because our cars get so nasty driving in the snow and then it melts on our garage floor and then gets in our house from there.  sick.
colorado weather really is something else.  it's just 66* and will be snowing in less than five hours.  typical.
i got instagram.  i am following no one, i have no followers myself, and i have posted exactly one picture... this one.  it doesn't even have a border or caption.  ps- baby girl wants to wear puffy dresses every day... my childhood is back to haunt me.
also wants to wear this hat every day.  still, best 25 cents ever spent.
"look at the camera and smile" got me this gem.  i think she knew she was sabotaging my picture.  she was smug about it.
have you ever seen a cuter hobo?  i haven't.

just an obligatory "tummy time" picture... so i can remember that one time i had brady spend time on his belly.  just kidding... i'm sure it's been more like four or five.

black friday bowling

in my family, we go bowling every christmas.  like christmas day after presents and dinner.  the hilliers don't have a set day of the year that they bowl and this year it happened to land on black friday.  my honey was so sweet to stay home with a napping baby girl (he had a jammed finger from the turkey bowl thanksgiving morning anyways) so i could hang out with his fam.  it was a lot of fun.

forget the baby center fruit.  here's my 35 weeks bump with bowling ball comparison.

you may not know this but i'm very self conscious about my small ankles. and big feet. these shoes did nothing to make me feel any more confident.
my mother in law couldn't stop laughing at me and making comments about "toothpicks" and "clown shoes."  it was awesome.
if i had the ability to put the ball exactly where you tell me to, i probably wouldn't need you in the first place.
as far as my actual bowling went.  it was very bad but extremely consistent...

yeay for black friday bowling!  at least i didn't fall over in my unbalanced, top heavy state...

unicorn hooves

baby girl is obsessed with shoes.  including display ceramic baby booties.  i use them as book ends for the collection of books on the bottom shelf of her changing table.  she uses them for dress up.

so yesterday after nap i went downstairs to work on making medals for our young women olympics we were having for mutual and i left baby girl upstairs to play.  then from the kitchen, i heard her voice at the top of the stairs saying "help!  help mama!  i need help!" on repeat... because no joke, she will repeat things twenty times straight if you don't acknowledge her.  i heard a beeping toy i wasn't familiar with and figured it was a big toy that she wanted me to help her get down the stairs.  she's very responsible and will definitely ask for help in those situations.

well, that wasn't the case.  the toy was a tiny cell phone and the reason she needed my help is because she was wearing the ceramic booties.  her feet are too big to fit in the bottom so she has to walk on her toes and it's like wearing stilettos for her.  as is the case every time i see her wearing these booties, i literally laughed out loud and then this time i went for the camera.

sorry she's naked.  again.  should i mention again that we don't have AC?

and thankfully i got a short video because then they finally cracked.

although i'm still crying inside a little bit that i didn't get a video of her actually walking in them because that was the most hilarious part.  the finesse with which she could prance around in those things.  they really looked like hooves.

my nakey little centaur baby.

abigail's pool

baby girl is kind of obsessed with pools and beaches and actually any body of water including the bathtub and our neighbor's little front yard waterfall stream tinyriver water feature.  sooo to simplify life, we try to name specifics when possible.  we got abigail a blow up baby pool for her birthday.  but "baby pool" is already taken because that's what she calls our neighborhood pool.  soooo meet "abigail's pool" because it is a very dear friend of ours.

check out that hair!  it's filling in!

i'm in love
she loves to watch water drip.  although normally it's with her head upside down and the water is dripping from her swim diaper after she gets out of the pool...

"here it is!"
favorite activity: putting all of the toys in the bucket and dumping them out again.  repeat times a million.
another favorite: dive rings on and off any limb on any body.
my honey

i have a think for little baby shoulders and necks.  and i love the way her shoulder blades stick out just like mine always did.  i'll have to get a picture of that sometime.

very orderly

and ready for my very favorite part of it all?!  no sunscreen!  we can either wait until noon when the sun has moved high enough that the pool is completely shaded under the patio roof or just go for a quick evening swim after nap.  soooo much less work that putting swimsuits and sunscreen (almost said diapers... whoops) on both of us and packing snacks, towels, pool toys, dry clothes, etc. into the car and to the pool.  no hot car, no chasing a kid from baby pool to big pool, just hanging out... living the life.

i'm absolutely positive i appreciate all of baby girl's birthday toys more than she does.  it's amazing how much easier life is when you can be at home and your kid is actually entertained by something other than you!  laundry, cooking, cleaning...  it all happens much more often now.  thank goodness for that!
