MLK center

after the varsity we headed to the martin luther king jr center.  it is 100% free and super interesting and well put together.

ebenezer baptist church.  where mlk and his dad and his grandfather all preached.

notice the sign

because it's an icon

let me tell you why you should be laughing.  emmy has a halo over her head.  i didn't plan it but it works out all too well because in our family, emmy kinda has a reputation for being the golden child... the perfect one.
the rest of us are all just a little too quirky.  but emmy is normal and pretty and talented.  and apparently very righteous too.

what a good looking couple

we're pretty cute too... right?  or at least one of us is.

that's the new ebenezer baptist church.  it's bigger and newer.  i think they only use the old historic building for very special occasions.

tombs for mlk and his wife coretta.

this quote was in a window we passed by.  i hope someday my honey can say something similar about me.

the first integrated fire station in the city

does this remind you of anything?

how bout now?
