cookies with baby girl

i've been pretty apathetic lately.  and sad.  so sorry for the lack of blogging.  even this will be a stretch.

i haven't felt like eating much but i've tried to not 100% pretend my kitchen doesn't exist.

this past week i made pioneer woman's marlboro man sandwich, which i'm happy to say turned out better than the last time i made it.  i think last time i must have not cut the correct way across the grain of the meat... because this time it was way more tender and easy to eat.  delicious but i still think i should have added more onions.  lots of onions is just never enough.  i can't get enough onions these days.

i also tried out something new when i made treats for our young women class presidency training on saturday.  i pretty much just stuck to the basics and made sugar cookies from a mix and my favorite three ingredient chocolate chip pumpkin spice cookies (box of spice cake mix, can of pumpkin, some chocolate chips), except that i decided to make some of the pumpkin cookies without the chocolate chips and then found this cinnamon frosting recipe (i didn't make the cookies from the site... just the frosting) to use with them.  i stuffed the frosting in the middle and made little pumpkin cookie sandwiches.  not bad.

the best part though was that i had the cutest little helper.  i was able to realize my dream of making cookies with my daughter and it was glorious.  i had to keep her there with occasional chocolate chips and she did get to lick the spatula when we were done so i'm pretty sure she'll be excited about making cookies next time the opportunity is presented to her.

she was just precious.

there were more cookies than that... the picture just wasn't taken when they were all beautifully arranged. ask me if i care. i don't.

and now i'm going to sleep.  someone please tell my headache to go away.  and while you're at it, tell my stomach it's okay to be hungry or to not be in the mood to eat but that it's definitely not okay to do both of those things at once.  that's just cruel.
